We gave Everkind a design system, then used it to ship 20+ features, including a full dark mode, without redesigning screen by screen.
Everkind is a private AI journaling and wellbeing app. People talk or type through what's on their mind, get personalized meditations, and build a daily check-in habit. Organizations also offer Everkind to their members as a confidential benefit.
Everkind's mobile app grew fast without a design system underneath it. Design decisions were made during development, one feature at a time. Each new module added inconsistency, rework, and friction, and the product got harder to extend.
We started with the foundation: color tokens, typography, elevation, spacing, and a shared component library. We used it to standardize the core of the app. Then we worked through the roadmap ticket by ticket, taking each feature from brief to explorations to a developer-ready handoff.
A full dark mode, built from scratch. Because the system was token-based, we created a complete dark theme across home, conversation, meditation, journal lock, and voice screens without redesigning each one by hand.
Signup, privacy, and consent. We designed an age verification and parental consent flow for users aged 13 to 16. It includes a neutral date-of-birth step, a parent email request, a browser-based consent page built on lawyer-approved wording, and a respectful blocked state with support resources for under-13s. We also designed the B2B invite email that welcomes members of partner organizations and reassures them their organization can't see what they write.
A smarter, more personal chat. We restyled the conversation interface and added new controls. Users can listen to AI responses without switching to voice mode, voice is now the default input, long messages are handled more gracefully, and closing a conversation takes fewer steps. The opening prompt now adapts to each user.
Feedback and ratings. We created a lightweight per-message feedback bar with one consolidated "What could be better?" sheet, plus an optional post-conversation rating. We also designed a full-screen rating prompt in onboarding to capture App Store reviews before users drop off.
Sharing journal entries. Users can export a journal entry as a branded PDF, as a summary or with the full conversation, and share it with people who don't use Everkind.
Habit and engagement features. A redesigned homepage, more visible streaks, post-conversation insights, and a reusable loading-state component.

Everkind now has a consistent, modern product and a system that grows with it. New features ship with clear, developer-ready specs and far less back-and-forth. The app feels cohesive in both light and dark mode across every part of the experience.
